Fees from the Texas Secretary of State fee schedule; franchise tax threshold for 2026 and 2027 reports. General information, not legal or tax advice.
How to read the list
Every row comes from the guides on this site and their official sources: the Texas Secretary of State fee schedule and Form 205 instructions, Chapter 71 of the Business and Commerce Code, the Texas Comptroller, the Texas Labor Code and Family Code, the City of Austin and the IRS. The total adds only fees set by the state; county clerk charges and city permit fees depend on your case and are not included.
The list is a starting point, not legal or tax advice. Some businesses need licenses this check does not cover, such as food, alcohol or hazardous materials permits from the city, or a professional license from a state board. See Austin Business Permits and Zoning: Opening a Storefront, Office or Studio and confirm each step with the agency before you file.
